Gym case is a colorful carton suitcase full of games that will make you move! Gym case’s fun and educational games inspire towards creative movement and expression. The idea of the games is to play together and to move creatively by acting the characters in the picture cards. Gym case suits well as entertainment for the whole family or as an educational material with 3 to 9 year old children.

”Moving” picture cards
The games in the Gym case make use of picture cards describing figures that move in many different ways. There are six theme groups with 14 cards in each. The ”moving” card groups are animals, human and fairytale figures, things, physical excercises and different sports. In addition, there are 14 cards for emotional states that can be combined with the movement cards. The players can create their own style to move. There is no right or wrong: the important thing is to try one’s best!

The catching melodies and easy-to-learn lyrics as well as the beautiful arrangements of the songs inspire the songdrawers of different age to dive in to the world of art- and action-based learning.

SONGDRAWING is a multisensory and holistic form of activity in which drawings are conjured up and supported by joyful drawing songs. With its diverse excercises, working methods, and processes, the Songdrawing Method supports children in multiple areas of learning and offers experiences of interaction and inclusion.

In addition to singing and drawing, songdrawing invites the children to concentrate, communicate, and cooperate. The method effectively supports linguistic and social emotional skills, motor and manual skills, self-efficacy, and courage. In songdrawing, the boundaries of the paper don’t determine the limits of visual expression. You might as well songdraw on your friend’s back, on a large shared piece of paper, in sand, or in the air.

This material includes versatile information about the Songdrawing Method, 40 lovely method songs and hundreds of practical activity tips for different pedagogical purposes and usage situations. The catching songs on the CD support and inspire you on your songdrawing
path and lead you to mesmerizing musical milieus, as well as to various pedagogical themes, stories and adventures.

The Songdrawing Method was developed by a Finnish children’s songwriter and music educator Minna Lappalainen, together with method users and experts in education and rehabilitation. During the past few years songdrawing has become an established pedagogical method in Finnish early childhood education, preschool and special education, early childhood music education as well as in rehabilitation such as speech and occupational therapy. The method is in active use also in early language teaching, language immersion and language enrichment programs in preschool and elementary education.

Active with ABC & 123

Push aside your desks and get up from your seats! The Active with ABC & 123 materials will inspire you to dive into the world of letters and numbers – in an active and interactive way, by gaming and playing, jumping and balancing!

The alphabet and number mats included in the material provide endless opportunities for the utilisation of movement, play, and activity as supports for learning. In addition to ready-made games, play activities, and tips for action, the material will also inspire making up your own games and applying them in many ways as a part of the teaching of children of different ages.

The English language material is well-suited for e.g. all English-speaking pre-school, primary, and special needs education, language teaching, early childhood education, as a stimulus for physical education, and in various children’s club activities.

Material contents

45 non-slip game mats (diameter 20 cm), including
- the English alphabet with movable initial characters corresponding to the letter of the mat
- the numbers 0 to 12 and an amount of fruits and vegetables corresponding to the number
- 6 game elements (start, stop, toll the die, don’t roll the die, plus, minus)

A booklet with instructions for over 20 learning games and play activities that take place on the floor

The mats are packed and sold in a drawstring cotton bag.

The ACTIVE WITH ABC&123 -material is designed and made in Finland.

Material care and safety
The material is intended as teaching material for professionals working with children over 4 years of age. The mats are made of phthalate-free, child-safe PVC plastic. The material is not intended for children under 3 years of age.

Clean the dust off of the mats with a dry or moist cloth regularly in order to preserve their non-slip functionality. Do not use solvents.

Although the mats have good non-slip properties, normal caution should be observed during the games and play activities to avoid accidents. Please note that the mats are non-slip only when the picture side is facing up. It is advisable to not wear shoes while using the material.
